Oliver Hartmann

Guitars / Vocals

Oliver Hartmann, born in 1970 in Rüsselheim near Frankfurt / Germany, has been one of the exceptional guitarists and singers of his genre in the international rock scene for more than three decades. He started his musical career with the semi-professional hard rock bands MERLIN and HEAT (winner of the German Rock & Pop Award 1990) and also played in the cover band SPIDER in the 1990s, among other formations.

He first attracted international attention as the singer of the German metal band AT VANCE from 1999 to 2002. After the most successful fourth album "Only Human" he left the band after the European tour in 2002 to concentrate on his solo career with the band HARTMANN in addition to other projects in the following years. Since their highly acclaimed debut "Out In The Cold", voted album of the month by many magazines in 2005, the band has been one of the best-known German acts in the field of modern melodic rock and has now released a total of ten albums.

Since "Metal Opera Part 1" he has of course also been known as part of the mega-selling band AVANTASIA, with whom he was involved in a total of eight albums and many worldwide tours between 1999 and 2023. As a touring musician for ROCK MEETS CLASSIC between 2012 and 2015, he also performed on stage with numerous rock legends as Steve Lukather (TOTO), Ian Gillan (DEEP PURPLE), Rick Parfitt (STATUS QUO), Paul Rodgers (FREE, BAD COMPANY, ex-QUEEN), Jimi Jamison (SURVIVOR), John Wetton (ASIA), Mick Box and Bernie Shaw (URIAH HEEP) Eric Martin (MR. BIG), Gianna Nannini, Bonnie Tyler and Robin Beck.

As a well-booked studio musician he can also be heard on many well-known productions by international hard rock and metal bands such as HELLOWEEN, HAMMERFALL, KAMELOT, EDGUY and RHAPSODY. Some people also know him as the singer of the song "Die Legende Lebt", the club anthem of the German football club 1. FC Nuernberg, as station voice of the German radio station ROCKANTENNE and many others.

After more than twenty-one years as frontman of ECHOES, producer and source of ideas for their albums "Barefoot To The Moon" and "Live From The Dark Side", he will now say goodbye to what is probably Germany's most successful Pink Floyd tribute to date after the acoustic tour in January 2024 and, together with former members of the band, will embark on a new path to continue the Pink Floyd theme under the name PULSE!

Martin Hofmann

Bass / Vocals

Martin was already interested in playing the electric guitar at the age of nine. He first came into contact with the music of Pink Floyd at the age of eleven when his American childhood friend and drummer played him the album Atom Heart Mother, which made a lasting impression on Martin.

Through various bands and a first appearance together with the future actor Ulrich Tukur, he was offered the chance to join a rock band called FINNEGAN'S WAKE as a bass player at the age of fourteen. This gave him his first regular live gigs, which enabled him to realize his first equipment dreams.

In 1976, he and his brother Johannes (keyboards) founded the band SCARAMOUCHE, which at that time regularly organized well-attended concerts and for the first time toured Germany professionally with its own truck and league show. The self-titled album was released in 1980 by Ohrwurm-Records and later on CD by the French publisher MUSEA.

Martin left the band in 1983 and from then on only worked as a hobby musician. During the heyday of techno in 1991, he and two ex-Scaramouche members founded SECONDS OUT, one of the first tribute bands in Germany to focus exclusively on the music of GENESIS with a focus on progressive rock from 1970-1977. It was there that the musical paths of Markus Nanz, who joined ECHOES in 2016 as a substitute keyboardist and was used more and more frequently, crossed once again. From the mid-nineties, SECONDS OUT played quite successfully in front of sold-out halls (including with ASIA, FISH and SAGA at the Night of The Prog 2006 on the Loreley stage) and was part of the Progressive Rock Convention. Three live videos and a live CD were released in this context between 1994 and 1996.

In 2002, he joined the Pink Floyd tribute ECHOES, founded in 1995, together with Oliver Hartmann, which had been inactive for a year and a half before playing regional concerts. With the new line-up, the band steadily grew in popularity and by the end of January 2024 had successfully performed over 600 concerts throughout Europe and beyond Germany's borders. During this time, the band released a total of three live albums, "Out There...", "Live From The Dark Side" and "Barefoot To The Moon", with the latter even reaching number 20 in the Media Control Charts in 2015, the year of its release. After the band split up in January 2024, this era ended after more than two decades and led to the formation of the new Pink Floyd tribute PULSE, in which Martin Hofmann is once again part of the band as bassist and singer.

Sébastien Angrand

Drums

Sébastien Angrand, born and raised in Montpellier in France, played in numerous bands in his home country, mainly in the rock, metal and progressive genres. However, he has never lost sight of his love of jazz. He also worked as a studio drummer in his home country for major labels such as Warner and BMG (CYRIL PAULUS).

Over 25 years ago, he decided to move to Germany for personal reasons. He recorded his first record "So Many Ways" in 2000, played in various bands in the cover scene in Germany (BIG TROUBLE, MEGABITE, DIE LIGA, NUMBER NINE, PLANET GROOVE etc.), worked with the BLUE MAN GROUP team and performed with NEVIO and as a support band for PUR.

As a touring drummer, he played with the well-known German band EISBRECHER in 2010, with whom he also accompanied the ALICE COOPER tour in Germany.

His preference for drums, the experiences associated with them and the music led him to set up his own recording studio with STUDIO 73, where, in addition to his own work, he also recorded and produced for bands and artists such as INFECTED AUTHORITAH, REMEMBER APRIL, SIMON FIRST, STEFFI LIST (known from TV Total - Stefan Raab) and FIONA. In addition to other studio projects such as MISTRAL, he is currently also part of the cover band CHICOLORES as a live musician.

With his penchant for prog rock from the seventies and eighties, his passion for the music of Pink Floyd and his exceptional skills as a drummer, he is the absolute best new addition to PULSE!

Markus Nanz

Keyboards

Markus Nanz started playing piano at the age of 5 and continued his classical piano training until the age of 16. Starting with Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition", known by the supergroup EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER, as well as the appearance of bands such as QUEEN, KANSAS, YES and SAGA, his enthusiasm turned more and more to progressive rock and from piano to electronic instruments.

In the eighties and nineties he was part of local cover and tribute bands with many concerts. At the turn of the millennium, he founded a very successful ALAN PARSONS cover band with friends, got engagements with the Earth, Wind and Fire tribute ELEMENTS OF THE UNIVERSE and became a member of the well-known and successful Genesis tribute "SECONDS OUT".

Since 2016, he has also increasingly appeared on stage with the Pink Floyd tribute ECHOES and has played the majority of the band's live concerts in the last two years. In 2022, this also led to his appointment as the new keyboardist for HARTMANN, the solo band of the well-known and successful guitarist and singer Oliver Hartmann, followed by tours and concerts throughout Europe. Today he is a founding member, keyboardist and backing vocalist in PULSE.

Ilka Müller

Vocals

Ilka Müller, born and raised in Groß Umstadt / Germany, has been on the road as a singer with various acts since her youth, including TALKING SAX, SPIRIT OF SOUL, GROOVE CONTROL and many others. In addition to various bands and studio productions, she also works as a speaker and vocal coach.

For many years she has been responsible for the backing vocals of the Pink Floyd tribute ECHOES together or alternately with Carolin Riehemann, can be seen and heard on the successful production "Live From The Dark Side" and is now also part of the PULSE line-up.

Carolin Riehemann

Vocals

In addition to local and regional bands, Carolin Riehemann from Hoesbach near Aschaffenburg has also been an integral part of ECHOES as a singer together with Ilka Mueller for more than fifteen years. Among others her skills can be seen and heard on the productions "Barefoot To The Moon" and "Live From The Dark Side". We are therefore delighted to have her on board as a singer for PULSE with immediate effect!

Michael Unger

Saxophon

Michael Unger began playing the saxophone, clarinet and flute as a child and has been pursuing his professional career as a musician since his early youth. After studio and live engagements as well as tours at home and abroad, including with his own band TALKING SAX, he became a lecturer at the FMS school in 1997 and founded his own music school in Seligenstadt / Germany in 2001.

In addition to developing saxophone mouthpieces for the company ESM, advertising contracts with the brands ANTIGUA and JUPITER, leading workshops and working as an author for specialist magazines, he has performed live with countless regional and national acts.

As a permanent member of the Pink Floyd tribute ECHOES since 2006 he was also involved in the productions "Barefoot To The Moon" and "Live From The Dark Side" and is now the saxophonist of the newly founded Pink Floyd tribute PULSE.
